We check the shopfront, the basket/checkout journey and order notifications each month, record the work in a short care note, and handle updates and backups as agreed for your platform.

Up to 90 minutes of small product/content changes or troubleshooting each month.

For example, update supplied product information or investigate a checkout issue within the allowance. Day-to-day fulfilment and stock entry remain with your team.

Build details & limits

A standard shop platform is selected and agreed before the build. Includes a shopfront, up to five product categories, up to 20 products and up to 60 sellable variants in total, standard basket/checkout, one payment provider, one UK delivery/collection setup, contact and supplied policy content, basic page/product metadata and two review rounds. We test the purchase flow in the platform’s test mode before an approved live checkout check. You own and manage the store and payment accounts.

Separate costs or work: Shop hosting or platform subscription, domain/email, paid themes/extensions and payment-provider transaction fees are extra. Large catalogue imports, subscriptions, marketplaces, multiple currencies, custom shipping and stock/accounting integrations are quoted separately.

Typical build time: 4–6 weeks after your content and account access are ready. Your quote confirms the schedule.

What the upfront option covers

The build and 12 months of care from go-live. The build price stays the same; the discount applies to care only. At the end, agree another annual payment or move to monthly care. There is no automatic annual renewal. Third-party costs remain separate.

AFTER THE BUILD

You have someone

You receive a short note with the checks completed, work done and any next action. Small edits or fixes use the time allowance on your package. Unused time does not roll over.

A clear response target.

Email Zen when the existing setup needs attention. We aim to send an initial reply within two working days, Monday to Friday. Time to fix an issue depends on the problem and the services involved.

Before you decide

What starts the payments?

You approve the written scope before an invoice is issued. Choose the build paid upfront with monthly care from go-live, or one upfront payment for the build and 12 months of care. The discount applies only to those care payments. Enquiring does not place an order.

What would cost extra?

New screens, pages, processes, redesigns and major changes are quoted separately. Website care includes the hosting described on its package. App hosting, databases, business email, paid platforms, external services, payment fees and AI usage are separate costs agreed before work starts.

Who owns the finished work?

Once the build fee is paid, your custom site or app code and content are yours. Your domain and service accounts stay in your name. Third-party platforms and components retain their own licences and any subscription requirements.

Can I stop care?

Yes, with 30 days’ notice. For prepaid care, unused complete months after the notice period are refunded at the discounted care rate paid. The build fee and used care are excluded. We agree hosting and handover before care ends. Annual care has no automatic renewal.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before we start.

Do I have to choose a package before getting in touch?

No. Describe your business and the job you want help with. Zen will recommend a starting point. Sending an enquiry does not place an order or start monthly payments.

What do “apps”, “jobs” and “steps” mean?

An app is something you use, such as a form, spreadsheet, email service or booking tool. A job is the routine you want handled, such as saving new enquiries. A step is one action within that job, such as adding a row to your spreadsheet. The limits for each package are explained under Build details & limits.

Can you work with the software I already use?

We check what your apps and account plans allow before confirming a quote. If a paid plan or another service is needed, its cost is explained before you commit.

Do I need to know anything about AI?

No. Explain the task in your own words. Zen handles the approach, setup and testing, then shows you how to use the finished work. Some tasks can be handled with a simple connection between apps and do not need AI.

Does website care include writing all my content?

You supply the text, logo and images for the build; we format them for your pages. Monthly care includes the small text or photo changes shown on your package. New pages and larger content projects need a separate quote.

Which website package supports e-commerce?

Choose Online Shop when you need products, a basket, a full checkout and order management. Connected Website adds an existing booking widget or payment link; it does not include a complete shop. The Online Shop package starts at £1,995 build + £145/month care, or £3,561 for the build and 12 months of care paid upfront. Shop platform/hosting and payment-provider fees are extra.

Can I have a website and automation together?

Yes. Tell Zen about both. He will confirm what belongs in the website build, what the automatic job needs, and the combined setup, monthly care and software costs before you decide.

What does the one-off payment cover?

The build and 12 months of care, starting at go-live. You save 10% on those care payments. Hosting or services listed as extra remain separate. It covers a defined year of support. At the end, agree another annual payment or move to monthly care; there is no automatic annual renewal.

Is a business app the same as an iPhone or Android store app?

These packages build browser-based apps. Staff or customers open a link on their phone or computer. Publishing through the Apple App Store or Google Play, offline use and phone-specific features need a separate technical scope and quote.

What is the difference between automation and a business app?

Automation connects existing apps to carry out an agreed job. A business app gives your staff or customers a new screen to use, such as a calculator, job tracker or customer portal. The quote confirms whether your project needs one or both.

Will replies or updates go out without my approval?

You agree the approval points before the build. A reply can be prepared for you to review before sending. Actions only run automatically where that has been specifically agreed.
